Why We Must Prioritize Women’s Health
This isn’t just a blog page for women, but also for men. Let’s create an environment where we support and encourage research, diagnostics, and treatment for diseases that affect women.
Why is this necessary? Some of these conditions are extremely painful, contribute to poor quality of life, and are incredibly debilitating. Women often struggle to manage their condition and function in life—staying in employment, academia, or even maintaining a social and family life.
Some shocking stats highlight the urgency:
The average time to diagnose endometriosis is 8 years, often requiring invasive surgery (laparoscopy).
Current treatments, like the contraceptive pill, don’t address the root cause of conditions like PCOS or endometriosis. Instead, they prevent ovulation and induce a “fake” period.
Why haven’t better diagnostic methods or treatments been developed? Why are women still receiving outdated solutions for such serious conditions? These are the kinds of questions we need to ask and address.
Conditions like these don’t just affect women—they impact families, workplaces, and communities. Let’s change the narrative and create better solutions together.
